INVITATION

Dear Wahyanites,

Following the centennial celebration of Wah Yan College Hong Kong in 2019, this year marks a major
milestone as both of our Alma Maters are well into the second century of providing the excellence
of Jesuit education in Hong Kong. On behalf of the Wah Yan International Conference (WYIC) 2024
Organising Committee, I have the pleasure of extending to you the invitation to attend this year’s
event. To be held from December 18-20, 2024 (Wednesday to Friday), this year’s WYIC will culminate
in the centenary celebration of Wah Yan College, Kowloon.

The WYIC 2024 will feature reports and updates from both schools, the Students’ Associations, the
Past Students’ Associations, overseas chapters and more. To make the programme extra exciting, we
are dedicating one day for an exclusive tour to the Holy Spirit Seminary and a company visit to
Phase Scientific.

Generally not open to public, the Holy Spirit Seminary is not only a base for seminarians who would
be ordained to priesthood, but home to the rich history and culture of the Catholic church in Hong
Kong and in South China. Whereas for Phase Scientific, set up WYK graduate Ricky Chiu (’00), it is
an exemplary start-up from Hong Kong that edged out established Asia-based peers to win US approval
for a Covid-19 rapid antigen test kit.
Campus tours will also be arranged on the second day for participants to see the latest
developments in both schools up close. Full programme will be announced in due course, but some
highlights below:

Dec 18, 2024 (Wed) Welcome reception late afternoon/early evening
Dec 19, 2024 (Thu) Campus tours to WYCHK and WYK, followed by the main conference programme at
WYK
Dec 20, 2024 (Fri) Company visit at Phase Scientific, and an exclusive tour to the Holy Spirit
Seminary
The centenary gala dinner of Wah Yan College, Kowloon will also be hosted in the evening of
December 20, 2024 (seats sold separately)

A fee of HK$730 is set for the WYIC this year, covering all the necessary costs for the welcome
reception, the full programme, and transportation for the visits. For enrolment and payment, please
follow the steps below:

1. Fill out the Google form linked here
2. Either deposit HK$730 to WYKPSA bank account (Bank: HSBC, account number: 808-024525-001)
or pay online via WYKPSA eShop (https://eshop.wykpsa.org.hk/)
3. Email the payment slip/e-slip to secretariat@wykpsa.org.hk, with your name indicated in the
message
